Who the heck is Cedrick the Satyr?

Cedrick the Satyr is the titular fae of Faewyld Creations! My magical alter ego, Cedrick is the character that makes and sells the leather goods sold within our shop back home in his workshop deep within the FaeWylds at Casa de Satyr. A powerful Umbramancer and Planeswalker; Cedrick with his Warlocks and his gaggle of misfit friends and adventurers called Casa de Satyr roam around the multiverse looking for fun and interesting things to do or occupy there time. Cedrick has been to many worlds, he has seen many things, but in finding this world of Earth he’s made this realm a rest spot for himself and his Casa. Ever since he discovered the internet and Tiktok however he’s had a way to share his strange life as a patron with everyone here.

Cedrick really is a long standing LARP and Roleplaying character that has survived many things that he probably should not have. Hell, a few key things he didn’t survive, but it’s hard to keep a good fae down for good. For years he was my main character however when Covid-19 hit I had to put the costume away and be content with guest appearances in my own and my friends D&D games. Then one of my roommates at the time finally got me to look at Tiktok as I was going crazy in my apartment while working from home. Reluctantly I downloaded the app and soon I was hooked. It gave me an outlet to use the character and costume to entertain and inspire others who were also cooped up inside and soon I built a small following as Cedrick_the_Satyr on Tiktok. Doing small skits with friends, interacting with my small community, and just having fun with silly satyr shenanigans. That mixed with be starting to get into the Ren Faire circuit as a character and vender after the Covid restrictions started to loosen gave new life and new fun to the old character.

When I got into leatherworking and decided that I wanted to make this my business it became clear how best to sell my wares. On again went the satyr legs and horns and Cedrick started to attract people to the table at the craft fairs and flea markets that I started going too. Soon FaeWyld Creations was born as Cedrick adds a fun atmosphere to where ever he sets up the table. Children and Adults alike smile when they turn the corner to see a full Satyr behind a table of hand made leather goods. It brings a bit of magic to the day and a lot of smiles. That’s why I do it… Would it be easier to just go in normal clothes or even some basic renaissance fair clothes? Of course, but then you wouldn’t see the big smiles. Plus if you didn’t buy leather from a fae from the store called FaeWyld Creations then isn’t the whole experience just a little more sad? I think so…

FAQ

Q: What kind of store is this?

A: FaeWyld Creations is primarily a leather goods boutique aiming to serve the L.A.R.P (Live Action Role Playing), Renaissance Faire, Cosplay, Gaming, and Adventuring communities’ while providing a little bit of magic to the common consumer with an assortment of non-nerdy leather things. In short… we aim ourselves and our designs towards a more Ren Faire/Fantasy/Nerdy-Gaming bent however still make affordable leather things for the common folk.

Here at FaeWyld Creations we believe that if you buy a good piece of leather, and you take care of it, that leather will last you forever. On top of cool leather goods we also make unique leather jewelry, gifts, toys, games, and all sorts of other unique items from the faewylds!

Q: Wait… why are you half naked and dressed like some weird goat thing?

A: That would be Cedrick, the titular Fae craftsmen of FaeWyld Creations. Also he is not a “weird half naked goat thing” but a Satyr; a type of Greek nature spirit/fairy known for their ability to drink and partying nature. One of the things that makes our shop unique is Cedrick as our front man talking to people at events and drawing attention to our table. In the end he’s a good natured fae hoping to have and spread a good time while selling some leather. The satyr is old LARPing character and has quite the history to him over many games. Check out Cedrick and his Warlocks in Casa de Satyr on Tiktok! Just search for Cedrick_The_Satyr to find him for goofy adventures and leatherworking!

Q: Do you do/take commissions?

A: The answer is…. SOMETIMES! For the most part Yes, I do commission work for people. I reserve the right to turn down a commission request of course, I don’t care how much you pay me I won’t do offensive stuff like Nazi or White Supremacy logos on stuff, but if you have some special tooling in mind for one of my items or a specific unique item then drop me a line! There are also times where I just don’t have the time to take on extra commissions; like if I’m building for an event or restock of the store. If thats the case when you reach out to me i’ll just let you know that I’m not taking on commissions at the moment but I can add you to a contact list for when I do get some free time to start doing them again. Check the News section for shop updates and when I become open for commissions. You can also contact me via the contact section of this site or be emailing us at…

Q: Where do you ship to?

A: Currently we ship to anywhere in the U.S.A. and generally ship through USPS. We currently don’t do international shipping at the moment because it’s too expensive for a small one man operation like myself at the moment. If you are over seas and REALLY wants some of my goods send me a message through the contact me section or email and we can talk about international shipping costs. For the most part however, for now, we ship within the US.

Q: What if something breaks?

A: As I said above, I don’t believe in planned obsolescence. If you take care of the leather it should last you a lifetime. That said, life is tough some sometimes shit happens. If one of my creations breaks for you during normal use then send it back to me and I’ll fix it. Just drop me an email telling me what happened and we can get you the address needed to have you send it back to me. Once I get it I’ll repair it and send it back out to you. These leather goods are my art and my craft so it’s important to me that they do there job well and survive doing it.

Q: What is a Satyr?

A: A Satyr is a type of Greek nature spirit normally associated with the Gods Pan or Dionysus. Known for their loud and chaotic behavior’s, their love of drinks, women, and parties, as well as their lustful pursuits, a satyr became quickly associated with the Fae and other fairies though Shakespeare’s portrayal of Pan as well as modern culture and gaming evolving to see them as part of the courts of fairy.

Normally half man and half ram/goat in appearance, the Satyr are traditionally all male and represented the personification of masculinity in nature, leaving the Nymph to be there female counterpart and personification of femininity in nature. Ram/goat horns grown from a satyrs head, leaving a mostly normal upper body. Their lower half’s however resemble that of a goat with hooves and digitigrade legs allowing for swift movement through natural terrain. Natural charmers, powerful warriors, champion drinkers and life of the party a Satyr is the kind of fairy creature you want to have a drink with.

Q: What are the Fae Wylds?

A: In modern gaming and story telling there is a place known as the Fae Wylds. This place is the home of the fae, or fairy creatures, and is a place of primal existence, ever flowing life, and pure magic. Depending on the story this world has many names like The Dreaming, The Otherside, or Avalon; however the Fae Wylds is a common enough name for the realm and the important part of that it’s a highly magical and chaotic realm that serves as the home of all sorts of fairy creatures, courts, outsiders alike. Since our stick is sort of a whimsical fantasy fae inspired leather goods boutique, and our main front character is a Satyr himself, we choose to name ourselves Fae Wyld Creations!

Q: Wait a minute… I thought it was spelled “feywild”? Why is it spelled weird?

A: Simple enough to answer… Copyright and Trademarks. If i called my store “FeyWild Creations” I’d have Wizards of the Coast up my butt so fast. So! We play with the spelling a bit to make it more whimsical and the big scary lawyers wont send me letters.

Q: How long have you been doing this?

A: I started working with leather in the summer of 2021 after I visited King Richards Faire with my fiancée and bought a beginners tool kit and a starting project kit (a memo book holder) for $75. I had always wanted to give leather working and try and the kit not only had all the basic tools but I had a few friends who were also amateurs in the hobby. So one day I brought my kit down to my buddies house and did my first leatherworking project with him giving me some advice and tips along the way. That’s when I fell in love with the craft. Two years later, a few thousand dollars in supplies and tools, and many messed up projects later I find myself here and I’ve never been happier. I get too make art that people love and use every day and pay my own bills with it. Isn’t that every artists dream? Now with this website, I take my dream to the next level, and truly make this my carrier.

More Q&A to come as I get asked good questions/think of them!
